About

That Rhythm, Man Guitars

How it all started

I started as a serious guitar player in 1990, although I had been dabbling in playing for years by that point.  Very early on as a player I started learning how to set up guitars properly.  I eventually started refurbishing, rewiring, and doing general repair work on guitars that I bought for myself.  About the only thing I don't do myself at this point is complete refinishing, complicated fretwork or neck resets.  For those jobs I have a very highly experienced luthier.  Now I buy and sell guitars, specializing in Gibson, Paul Reed Smith, and archtop guitars.

Why That Rhythm, Man?

All of the guitars you find on my website have had a thorough multipoint inspection that covers playability, stability and electronics.  All of the guitars get a fresh set up and if you know your preferred string gauge, it will be done with your choice so that as best as is possible, considering changes in the guitar due to differences in climate, your guitar will come properly intonated and ready to play with a setup that should exceed any that you are likely to find on instruments hanging on the wall in your local shops.

RETURN POLICY

No question asked full refund if requested within 7 days after receipt and inspection of the returned guitar.  Buyer is responsible for original shipping, as well as return shipping/insurance costs.  We can assist with setting up return shipping via our FedEx account. Guitar or other item must be received in the same condition as was sent.

We understand that a guitar may not always be the right fit, and that when purchasing on the internet, you don't get the chance to play before you buy.  That's why we try to make returns as easy as we can.  Take a week to try the guitar out.  If you're still unsure after a week, just contact us at that time, we are always willing to work with our customers.  We just ask for understanding that we are a small shop and while we have an extremely low return rate, it's hard for us to absorb shipping costs for guitars that are as described, but not quite the right fit.

"Terrific help in making this purchase happen. This was my first archtop purchase and Chuck was incredibly patient and informative! Transaction went very smoothly and I'd recommend doing business with him anytime!"

Mark H.  (1949 Gibson ES-150)

"This was a positive experience in every possible way. The guitar was exactly as described--probably better! The description was accurate, the seller was immediately and completely responsive to any & all questions, and the guitar may have been underpriced (sorry, Chuck!) Please have no compunction in dealing with That RhythmMan. You won't be sorry!"

James G. (1994 Heritage Eagle Mahogany)

"This was the first time I have ever bought an instrument on-line, and the experience with ThatRhythmMan was outstanding! Ordering was simple, the instrument arrived in less than one week, and it was exactly as pictured and described in the listing. Thanks ThatRythmMan!"

Dale L.  (1995 Epiphone Emperor Regent)
