This 1907 Gibson Style O is a big guitar with a big neck and a huge voice. I would say this is among the loudest guitars I have heard and it has a nice balance too. While it has a carved spruce top (check out that crazy bear claw figuring) and carved back, the tone is more comparable to a jumbo or dreadnought flattop, I would imagine owing largely to it having a flattop style bridge, rather than the floating style typically associated with archtop guitars. Some of the paperwork showing documentation of the 1965 Gibson refinish and fretboard replacement. Additional paperwork is included with the guitar.
The neck is a deep U-shaped carve, as is often seen in these early Gibsons. The frets are in great condition. The action is completely reasonable for an acoustic guitar, but is not fast, but that is also due to the larger neck. All in all, I would say it plays quite well for those of us with larger hands, but might be difficult for smaller hands. It sounds so good that if it were mine, I would be awfully tempted to have the neck shaved down, although I'm sure some would consider that sacrilegious.
The overall condition is excellent and the 1965 refinish looks amazing with only minimal signs of wear.
