This 1935 Gibson L-50 is the most sought after version of the model, due to the neck joint with the elevated (cantilever) fretboard extension which gives ample room for the installation of a floating pickup, something which is not present on the versions with the flush mounted fretboard. While not as complex sounding and more fundamental than the carved back 1936 carved back L-50 we also have available, this one has similar punchiness and volume, displaying the bark that 16" Gibsons are well-known for having.
 
The guitar is in nearly all original condition, including bridge, tailpiece, tuners, frets, and finish.  The truss rod cover is the only thing that has been replaced. It plays well with a typical V-shape neck carve of this era of L-50s.  The neck is full with a nice width that easily accomodates larger hands.
 
The guitar has no breaks or top cracks.  There is a small, stable, hairline crack in the back on the treble side near the waist.  The back braces show some lift at the ends, but all appear tight otherwise and do not rattle.
