This 1936 Gibson L-30 has it's orginal factory black finish. The 14.75 inch body is the smallest standard for a Gibson acoustic archtop model. They may be small, but they still can pack a strong punch and make wonderful couch guitars or can hold up well in a small band.
This one has seen a lot of play time, as can be seen by the wear in the top finish with some exposed spruce on the treble side near the end of the fretboard. That's usually a sign of a well loved guitar with great sound, and this one lives up to the reputation. The original frets show wear, especially in the cowboy chord area, but the guitar still plays well with nice action. The neck has the typical V-shape of the era.
The top and sides are crack free, but the back has reglued braces and glued cracks.
The bridge is a replacement Graph Tech Resomax archtop bridge. This is the first guitar I've tried that has one of these and it works great with great tone transfer.
