Less than a month after Epiphone Broadway #56437 leaves the shop and #56410 arrives.  Earlier in the same batch of Broadways, this one has a lot of sonic similarities with a little less punch and a little more melodic sweetness.  All in all, this one is probably a bit more versatile that the other one that had a louder bark, but less sustain.

Recently refretted with period correct fret wire, this one plays beautifully with a perfectly straight neck.  The neck angle is appropriate, allowing for action low action if preferred.  The neck has a comfortable soft V-shaped neck which is pretty typical for Epiphones of the era.  The bridge has adequate adjustment room to go either up or down, as desired.  There is no top sinking.  Perhaps most remarkably the original Frequensator tailpiece has a mounting bracket which is perfect condition, not repaired or even cracked which is almost always the case.  The binding is crack free and shows no signs of rot.  The tuners are original.  The mounting hardware for the pickguard are also all original. The back of the guitar is crack free.

The original finish on the body shows wear with some cracking and scratches.  The top has three professionally repaired/cleated cracks in the bass side which now appear stable.  From what I've seen, cracks in that area on this batch appear pretty common.  With these repairs these are purely cosmetic and do not affect the tone of the guitar in any significant way.  The back of the neck shows considerable finish wear from lots of play time, but it appears to be protected by an overspray of lacquer on the neck only.  A plastic strap button was added at some point to the heel of the neck.  The bridge is a replacement which appears consistent with a 1950s-1960s Gibson two-footed bridge.

The guitar can be shipped in the TKL hard case pictured or in a period correct case, as the buyer prefers.  At this time the vintage case needs the intact hinges reattached appropriately to the case in order for it to work.
