Freshly refretted and set up by master luthier, Darrell Guinn, this Gibson L-4 is ready for many more years of play. There was also a slight hump in the fretboard which was also leveled. As expected, the action is low and the guitar is a fantastic player.
It has great tone and projection. All of the punch one would expect in a 16 inch Gibson archtop is there. While it was made in 1948, it sounds like a great pre-war Gibson.
There are no cracks or structural repairs and all parts appear original. There is some lacquer checking and small scattered chips and dings, but all in all it’s in very good condition for a 71 year old guitar. It is missing the white plastic endpin it would have originally had
This guitar comes with a great fitting modern Epiphone hardshell case.
