This 1953 Gibson ES-175 is in all original condition, except for a replaced pickguard mounting bracket and one replaced mounting screw for the dogear.  The tuners, pickup (and wiring harness), bridge, pickguard, tailpiece, and even the frets are all original to the guitar. There is an added strap button in the heel of the neck.  The finish is all original and shows some fairly light lacquer checking.  The finish is in very nice, glossy condition with a small area of lacquer damage from a guitar stand and several finish chips around the top of the headstock.  There are very few other small finish defects.  It's in amazing condition for a guitar that is over 70 years old.

The guitar plays very well, even with the small vintage frets that are near the end of their lives.  The bridge has plenty of room to adjust either up or down as the player prefers.  The neck has a full, 50s, C-shaped carve.  The P90 sounds great with that classic single coil Gibson archtop sound, although the output is a bit less than I would usually expect.  It has a fine resistance reading of 8.33K Ohms though. It is currently strung with D'Addario 10-46 with a wound third string for proper intonation with the original bridge.  It could easily handle a much heavier gauge.
