This 1952 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop is in beautiful condition for a first year example with very little wear to the gold finish other than checking and a few chips.  There is no corrosion of the finish like is often seen.  The guitar has all original parts with untouched electronics. The original bridge comes with the guitar, but it currently has a Music City Bridge installed for playability.  The original frets are small (they were from the factory), but it plays nicely.  The original tuners work perfectly. The D string tuner is bent, as can be seen in the photos, but that does not affect its operation.  The original Catalin switch tip shows remarkably little yellowing.  The original barrel control knobs look awesome.
 
The guitar is light weight and remarkably resonant, coming in at just 8.5 pounds.  This resonance is easily felt an heard when playing the guitar unplugged.  Of course, through a great amp is where these original P90s shine.  They have plenty of output and that great single coil attack they are known for.  They deliver warm, but snappy clean tones and wonderful overdriven clarity.
 
The neck has a full, 50s , C-shaped carve, thick, but definitely not too thick.  It feels great to play.  All notes ring out clearly with no buzzing.
