This Gibson ES-225 TDN (T=thinline, D=Dual pickup, N=Natural finish) is one of just 223 shipped in 1958.  It features a body made of laminated maple which has light flame and blister figuring.  The neck is mahogany with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.

The guitar plays beautifully with low, fast action.  Both P90s deliver all of the tones expected from vintage Gibson pickups. The neck is straight and all note ring out clearly. The neck carve is a full C shape without being too big.  The frets appear original and have quite a bit of life left in them.

All of the original electronics are present, but two of the potentiometers in the guitar are replacements.  The original pots (Centralab dating to the 38th week of 1958) and bumblebee capacitors are in the case.  The rest, including the P90s are original.  The original bridge is also in the case, while a compensated aftermarket bridge is currently on the guitar to improve intonation. The guitar shows a layer of oversprayed lacquer over the original.  While the original finish shows areas of checking on the neck, the overspray makes them essentiatlly unnoticeable to touch.
