This 1959 Gibson ES-225TD (thinline, dual pickup) has mostly original parts with the only changes being an excellent reproduction truss rod cover and a reproduction pickguard. Very importantly, the usually missing Catalin switch tip is present in this case. The all original electronics are led by a pair of golden era P90 pickups that sound simply amazing. All of the hardware has been closely inspected and checks out as original. The wraparound trapeze tailpiece is intonated very nicely and the guitar plays beautifully up and down the neck with no buzzing.
The finish is in overall excellent condition with light finish checking. The body finish looks excellent. While the original finish is all there, only to the well-trained eye there is almost undetectable evidence of a faint overspray. I am almost certain that even most dealers would not be able to tell, and it was certainly done very long ago. The neck finish shows significant wear and there is one dent in the neck, as shown in the photos. It does not affect playability at all, but should be noted for those who prefer a completely smooth neck.
