They don't come along like this very often.  The 1960 Gibson ES-5 Switchmaster is in phenomenal all original condition.  Even the wiring harness and PAF covers are completetly untouched.  All of the electronics work beautifully.  The first time I tried a vintage Switchmaster, I was amazed at how it sounded with all three pickups on and this one is no different.  I wouldn't normally think it was worth having three pickups in an archtop, heck, I normally don't care if that have a bridge pickup.  The neck is normally all I need in an archtop, but there's something special about these with everything on.  In this case, everything on means THREE original Gibson PAFs no less.  The sound is simply sublime.

The guitar has a typical slim 1960 C-shaped neck carve with a standard 1.68 inch nut width. It plays beautifully with low action, ringing out clearly at all frets on all strings.

The finish of this guitar is in superb condition, not just for the age of the guitar.  It only shows some light scuffing that I would bet could easily be buffed out if the new owner really wanted.  The all original gold hardware shows some loss of plating on the pickups and on the very early Grover Rotomatic tuners.  The tailpiece shows only the lightest of scratches.  This guitar is a stunner.

The original hardshell Lifton case is included.  It is in very good condition.  All of the latches and the hinges work well.
