Dating to 1961, this Epiphone Broadway is among the very first guitars to get the newly issued Gibson designed "PAF" mini-humbuckers. This Gibson made 17-inch electric archtop has laminated maple body construction. The neck is Honduran mahogany with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard.
The Brazilian rosewood bridge, tailpiece, electronics, and control knobs are all original. The original pickguard still shows evidence under blacklight of the long since gone epsilon logo. The tuners are early 1970s Gibson Deluxe, double ring, double line examples. The guitar was profressionally refretted fairly recently, showing no real noticeable wear. This finish is in superb condition, showing few signs of wear beyond light surface scratches. The tailpiece shows a small crack at the bend that goes over the edge of the body, a finding that is quite common on Frequensator tailpieces. If ever needed, reproductions of these parts are readily available or the part can easily be brazed for repair, but it appears currently stable.
The guitar also comes with the original Lifton hardshell case which is in very nice condition with fully functional hinges and latches.
