This 1964 Epiphone Triumph cutaway is a rare factory electric version with a recently introduce inset mini-humbucker pickup. It otherwise has the same construction as other Triumphs of the era with a carved, graduated spruce top. The guitar retains a very nice acoustic voice, much more than is usually found in guitars with electronics mounted in the top. Electrically, having a single neck position pickup in a carved top makes the guitar very much like a mini-humbucker L-5 Wes Montgomery in many respects. It's a truly great sounding guitar.
The playability is wonderful with level frets and low action available. The neck has a slim C-shape and the frets are in very good condition. The finish is in very good condition with a few scattered chips and otherwise only light surface scratches. No siginificant checking is present.
