This 1968 Gibson Barney Kessel has had one owner since the 1970s. It comes in all original condition with orginal case and relatively little wear for a guitar approaching 60 years old.
The guitar was recently set up with Thomastik-Infeld JS112 Jazz Swing flat strings and plays beautifully with low action. The slim, C-shaped neck feels comfortable in the hand. Notes ring out clearly at all frets and the early T-top pickups deliver great tone. These are some of my personal favorite pickups for Gibson electric archtop guitars.
The finsh shows light lacquer checking and general light wear with some dulling of the clear coat, but no significant scratches or dents. There is light chipping of the finish on the top of the back of the headstock.
