One of just 33 Super 400C archtops made by Gibson in 1969, this guitar has been beautifully maintained with an original finish that is still beautifully glossy with minor finish checking.  The crew at Joe Glaser's shop in Nashville added the Kent Armstrong mini-humbucker and a new pickguard with cutout for the pickup and routed in to a volume control mounted in the guard and from there to an endpin jack. The tuners, truss rod cover, and tailpiece are all original, while the bridge appears to be a replacement Gibson rosewood version with the full contact base. The frets are all original and have lots of life left in them.  The original hang tags are in the original hardshell case, and a pickguard which is said to be original without pickup cutout is also included.  I have doubts that this pickguard is original, but it is a fine celluloid example nonetheless and will allow easy conversion back to a pure acoustic setup if desired.
 
The neck has a tapered C-shaped carve with comfortable action that can be lowered or raised at the bridge as the player desires. Notes ring out clearly at all frets with no buzzing.  The guitar has a great sound both acoustically and plugged into an amp.

The guitar comes with the original hard shell case which is in good condition other than the old fabric damage to the inside of the lid from an off-gassing pickguard.  All latches and hinges work appropriately.
