This 1973 SG has mostly original hardware. The pickguard is an era correct replacement from another SG and the switch tip is not original. The pickups are the original Bill Lawrence designed "tarback" Super Humbuckers from the first year of production, and they sound great.
The finish shows only light wear, retaining most of its original cherry color, only fading toward brown in the area where your right arm would rest. There are many scattered small dents on the top and a fair amount of buckle worming on the back. The original harmonica bridge and the tailpiece show some loss of chrome. The pots and jack were replaced with DiMarzio parts at some point. These all work perfectly.
The guitar was just set up with a new bone nut by master luthier Darrell Guinn, and it's a great player. It has the classic early 70's neck with a slightly narrower nut and a deep C shape and tapered. The frets show some wear, but they do not affect the playability at all, and there is a lot of life left in them.
A non-original Gibson USA hardshell case is included. One of the four latches is broken, but the remaining three are in perfect working order and hold the case closed securely.
