This 1987 Newburgh built Steinberger GM1T was at some point converted to a GM4T with the addition of neck and middle, single coil EMG pickups. When these were installed, instead of using a blade switch like a factory stock GM4T would have, it had individual toggle switches installed for each pickup. This is a superior option in my opinion, allowing the player to select any combination of pickups desired, allowing for 7 different pickup settings.
The guitar plays beautifully with low action and no buzzing. The frets have ample life left. The Transtrem tremolo works great, allowing wide bends either up or down, multistring bends maintaining relative pitch, and 5 different key transpositions on the fly. The tremolo bar is not pictured, but is included, as is the original gig bag which is in good working condition. The guitar shows playwear to the finish, as pictured.
