This Les Paul is one of the pre Custom Shop Gibson Reissues, this one made in 1990. As they were doing with these, this one got an absolute monster flame. Many had the tiger stripe style flame, but this one has an undulating flame that looks far better in our opinion. There is a lot going on in this top, including a small area of burl along the edge, best seen on the bass side of the lower bout. This one presents in collector's condition with very little wear for a guitar that is more than 30 years old.
It has superb playability with low, fast action. There is no fret buzzing. The neck has a comfortable '50s style C-shaped carve. The pickups sound glorious from clean to high gain. All in all, a great find that you can't go wrong with, one of the best of the best from the era in our opinion.
The hardware show light wear and there are light surface scratches and a small amount of buckle indentation in the back that is too light to capture in a photo, but no significant wear to the clear coat finish. The serial number does not indicate a 1960 reissue. At this time, the first number corresponded to the actual year of manufacture. In this case it indicates 1990 and the pots also match.
The guitar comes with the original hard shell case and one hang tag.
