This is an excellent playing custom shop Les Paul with a highly figured flame maple top. It shares many features with custom shop reissues, such as an ABR-1 bridge and the look of a Les Paul Standard, but has more exclusive woods.
The tangerine burst finish nicely compliments the figuring of the wood and has a remarkably well done fade to the burst. This guitar combines looks, playability, and classic Gibson tone all in one package.
The Class 5 Les Pauls are supposed to be significantly lighter than the usual Les Paul, due to more weight relief chambering. I can't say for sure if this one was actually chambered, but if it is, it would have been a serious beast to hold all night, as it weighs in at a pretty normal weight for a non-weight relieved Les Paul. This one is 9 lb 15 oz.
The frets show only slight wear with no divots. The front and back show light dings and subtle worming, but no scratches through the finish.
A non-original Gator hardshell case is included. The certificate of authenticity, as pictured, is included.
