The Flying V Custom was a guitar that did not exist until 2002 when it was done for the 2002 NAMM show where it made its debut. The run was limited to 40 guitars in honor of the original run of 40 Flying Vs done in 1958. This guitar is 1 of the original 40, as shown on the special Certificate of Authenticity, pictured. This is the first time the Les Paul Custom was reimagined as a Flying V.
This guitar is in all original condition with a neck carve which actually seem more like a '59 carve, being a little slimmer than the typical fat '58. The action is low and fast over the straight neck. The pickups are 57 Classics and they sound amazing. The binding is the same multi-ply typically seen a Les Paul Custom, and the split diamond headstock inlay is also styled after the Les Paul Custom.
The guitar shows some play wear with light scuffs and scratches and some of the gold plating on the hardware rubbed off. All in all, the guitar is in very good condition.
The original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity are included.
