TRM as part of our Reserve Collection is proud to offer this exceptional, likely one of a kind Gibson Super 400.  The label identifies it as a CES, but it's a thinline guitar with a body side depth of 2 inches.  It also has only a neck pickup, a la the L-5 Wes Montgomery.  This remarkable guitar also features presentation level factory upgrades, including ornately engraved gold tailpiece and pickup covers, all tuner buttons individually engraved with fleur-de-lis patterns, abalone fleur-de-lis inlays in the bridge base, and abalone inlays on the headstock (front and back), fingerboard, and for side fret markers.
 
This Super 400 also features the absolutely highest quality woods throughout.  The spruce top shows fine medullary rays throughout with a few small areas of bear claw.  This top is remarkably resonant, yielding a surprisingly vibrant and full acoustic voice in a thinline, electric archtop guitar.  The back is made of the most highly flamed maple one could imagine, as is the five piece neck. Finally, the bridge and fingerboard are made of dark ebony.  This bridge base is mounted with a gold ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge.  
 
The frets show very little wear and the guitar simply plays perfectly with incredibly nice action.  The 57 Classic pickup shows a very typically resistance reading of 7.96k, but somehow this pickup seems to have considerably more punch than normally hear while still maintaining beautiful clarity and tone.  As hard as it may seem to believe, I think this guitar may sound even better than it looks, and that's an awfully high bar.
 
The only defects I can find are the pictured very shallow impressions in the spruce top.  These could almost certainly be steamed out, leaving a flawless appearance.
