This a rare custom color Benedetto Bambino from a limited run in the mid-2000s. On top of that, it’s one of the best playing guitars we have in stock and that’s really saying something.
This guitar has obviously been babied, and looks absolutely fantastic. I personally prefer this rare metal version of the tailpiece to the typical wooden one found on Benedetto archtops.
The neck has a medium-full C shape with a light taper and is so perfectly straight that the action can pretty much be set as low as you want it with no buzzing. The ebony fingerboard feels very fast.
This is a real bebop machine without a doubt, but the Benedetto (by Seymour Duncan) humbucker can crank out some overdriven tones. These pickups deliver great clarity without the muddiness that can affect many humbuckers. While it's a hollowbody guitar, there are no F holes, and the guitar does not feedback nearly as easily as one might expect.
The guitar is currently strung with a new set of Thomastik-Infeld Swings (12 gauge set) which I find compliments the guitar particularly well.
The original hard shell case is included.
