The Broadway is Bryant Trenier's take on the golden era 16" archtop. The goal is to achieve the perfect balance of power and beautiful tone. I have to say, task achieved.

While the standard for the model is to use maple for the back and sides, Bryant has made some with other woods. In this case the back and sides are made of gorgeous pieces of what appears to be mahogany or walnut. The guitar is made of all solid woods with arched, carved top and back. While the model is typically parallel-braced, this one has an x-braced top. The neck also appears to be made of mahogany and is topped with a rosewood fingerboard. The neck has a C-shaped carve that feels remarkably comfortable. The guitar comes with the shown mounted rosewood pickguard with Kent Armstrong floating humbucker, as well as a second uncut rosewood pickguard to allow the guitar to be set up cleanly as a purely acoustic guitar.

The guitar is in excellent condition, showing only the slightest signs of use. The finish shows some very light scuffing if held in just the right light which could easily be buffed out if desired. The frets show almost no wear at all. The action is wonderful with all notes ringing out clearly. The bridge has ample room to adjust the action either up or down as the player prefers.

The acoustic tone nails exactly what Bryant set out to achieve. The guitar has the power to play 4 to the bar and the subtlety to play lush chord-melody arrangements. Plugged in the guitar lights up with the great tone that Kent Armstrong 12-pole floating humbuckers are well-known for.
