This H-550 has custom appointments and a beautifully applied old style sunburst finish on top of it's flamed maple top, back, pickguard. The flame is striking with gorgeous depth.
The neck has a smooth D profile and there is no significant fretwear. The ebony fretboard has perfectly done mother of pearl inlays.
The finish is in very good condition with a few imperfections. The front has a small drop filled ding near the tailpiece and the back has a couple of impressions into the finish which are too deep to simply be buffed out, but Do not appear to go into wood at any point, except for a 2 mm chip in the finish at one point. Please see the photos.
The electronics are smooth and quiet. The original Seymour Duncan '59 pickup is in the bridge position and the neck position has been upgraded with a Lollar Imperial humbucker.
The bridge is an upgraded Graphtech Resomax and there is a maple reinforcement strip under the bridge and pickups for additional support, sustain, and resistance to feedback.
The guitar is very reminiscent of its predecessor, the Gibson ES-350. It's has a 25 1/2" scale length and a full 17" body. This example weighs 7 lbs 8 oz.
A high quality molded Roadrunner case with an excellent fit is included.
