The SeventySeven Exrubato Jazz was designed to deliver electric jazz tones in a slimline, double cutaway, fully hollow guitar.  While the general shape and construction is very similar to a Gibson ES-330, the Exrubato Jazz differs in some very important ways.  The first, and perhaps most important is the top being of laminate spruce construction which yields a warmer tone, especially when combined with humbucker pickups, instead of P90s (the second difference).  Lastly, the neck is 5-ply maple/walnut, rather than single piece mahogany.  The result is a wonderfully capable guitar that excels at jazz, but has great added versatility, thanks to the presence of a bridge pickup.  This can make a great blues or rock guitar as well.  The model has since been discontinued and doesn't come available very often.
 
The guitar plays beautifully.  The action is low and fast, and all notes ring out clearly at all frets. The The guitar is currently equipped with OX4 Carter Vintage Editon humbuckers. The neck pickup sounds very warm and mellow, much moreso than expected from this low wind pickup with an Alnico 5 magnet.  The Alnico 4 bridge pickup is where the really great rock tones lie.  The original SeventySeven Model AL255 humbuckers will also be included.
 
The frets show very little wear.  The nitrocellulose finish is in good condition with light scratches and a few dings on the body.  The neck feels smooth and fast.
