We are excited to get another archtop masterpiece from Bryant Trenier's workshop.  The fit and finish of this Trenier Excel are exemplary.  The woods are particularly nice examples.  The top is hand carved European spruce with bear claw figuring, while the back is carved flamed maple.  The sides are flamed maple and the fingerboard and tailpiece are made of ebony.  The neck is a single piece of beautiful barber pole flamed maple.

The top is X-braced, giving an even tone through all registers.  For an X-braced archtop, this one also has loads of volume.  This is a supremely versatile archtop guitar with the volume needed to play acoustically with a band or the sustain and even tone to do solo/chord melody work.  Occasionally I find an archtop that has an immediacy of attack that is reminiscent of a fine classical guitar, and this is one of those.  As many have noted though, Bryant is a master of tuning the top and back of a guitar as well, making many guitars very similar in ability to the work of Jimmy D'Aquisto.  While still quite expensive in the world of guitars, one of Bryant's fine guitars may be as close as most of us can get.  For a fraction of the price, this will get one a long way there.

The condition is near mint with almost no detectable wear to the finish and no detectable fret wear. There is a very small scratch in the fingerboard at the 20th fret as pictured.
