The Martin 000-15 Special was a limited run made in Nazareth, PA out of all solid woods, intended to be a high quality, lower cost instrument, available in small numbers.  The top is Sitka spruce and the sides and back are Honduran mahogany.  The neck is also mahogany with an East Indian rosewood fretboard.
 
The build quality is clearly very high with superb fit and finish.  The guitar is a feather light 3.75 pounds.  The build is highly resonant with a quick attack, present low end, and brillian high end sparkle.  This is a remarkable guitar value.  If you're looking for an American made Martin this guitar is a fantastic opportunity.
 
The playability is great and the "modified low oval" neck carve feels great in the hand.  The frets show light wear, with a bit of flattening of the first three frets under the highest strings, and almost unnoticeable otherwise.  The satin finish is also in excellent condition.
