This Campellone Standard was completed in 2016 and is the 495th guitar completed by Mark Campellone.  The guitar features a parallel-braced, hand-carved spruce top.  The carved back and solid sides are made of flamed maple.  The neck features a one-piece flamed maple construction with a C-shaped carve with is topped with a Macassar ebony fretboard which shows streaks of deep, chocolate-brown. The headstock overlay, tailpiece inlay, and bridge are all also Macassar ebony.  The use of ebony in this guitar is an upgrade from the rosewood normally used for these parts on the Standard model.
 
The guitar plays beautifully with all notes ringing out clearly.  The frets show very little wear.  The acoustic tone is full, very reminiscent of golden era archtops by Gibson and Epiphone.  The full-size floating humbucker is a custom made Vintage Vibe, handmade by Pete Biltoft, who while now retired is well-known for his amazing custom pickup work.  Through an amp, there is remarkable clarity and chime, much like what is found in the best original PAF Gibson pickups. The under the pickguard mounted controls can be dialed in to give a darker, smokier tone if that is what is desired.
 
The overall condition is very good.  There are a few finish checks, but these are quite sparse.  There is also some slight discoloration of the clear coat that is a result of some color bleed from the Cedar Creek case lining fabric.  This is a known, unfortunate thing that happened with a certain period of their cases. One has to look fairly closely to see it though.
