This Ken Smith Black Tiger Presentation (BSR 5TN) featuring a 4A crotch walnut top, flamed maple, and a Macassar ebony fretboard was made for the Japanese market, but is now available here in the US. It is in near mint condition, showing almost no sign of playwear. The action is low and it plays like a dream. It also features the optional series/parallel switch and the 18v Ken Smith circuit with changeable dip switches.
One of the great features of Ken Smith basses is that they can be used active or passive with the push/pull volume pot. That means no worries if you have a battery go dead in the middle of a gig. Just pull the volume pot up and you are good to go. This is probably the best playing 5-string bass I've ever tried. As one would expect from Ken Smith, the fit and finish are just phenomenal and the walnut top looks unbelievable.
