The Gibson Custom Shop 1954 Reissue is a one-off version, similar to the humbucker version done a few years ago. In addition to being loaded with a Burstbucker pickup set, this one also has the much more preferable tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece instead of a wraparound bridge, and has a cool VOS ebony top instead of gold. Ebony finish was actually a rare factory custom option in the 1950s. These "mods" are actually original to the guitar.  This is NOT a resprayed gold top, and it never had a wraparound bridge.
 
This Les Paul is amazing light and resonant at just 7.9 pounds. The playability is superb with low, fast action. The neck is a typical 1954 deep C, almost U shape. This is a guitar that can excel at anything from clean to high gain.
 
The guitar has a few very small surface scratches only, and is in overall excellent, near mint condition. The hardware has been given a factory VOS treatment to make it look somewhat aged. The back of the headstock is stamped "MOD", although keep in mind these are mods original to the guitar, not after market modifications.
 
The original hardshell case, plain black switch cavity cover, and certificate of authenticity are included.
