This one-off ES-335 is in essentially like new condition and comes with several modifications from the standard issue version which were tested at the Gibson factory. The mods include the top of the line Custombuckers in place of the usual T-type humbuckers. These Custombuckers also come with solid, no pole covers for a sleek look. The next mod is the striking replacement of the usual multi-ply black/white short plastic pickguard with a long '59 style pickguard which is instead made with the same bound tortoise material one would find on the high end archtops. The truss rod cover was also made with tortoise type plastic for an added touch of class. Next, the black reflector knobs have been replaced with amber top hat knobs. Lastly, the pickup rings are cream instead of the usual black rings.
The body is the usual laminate with strikingly flamed maple surface woods. The neck has a perfect '59 style carve with a full, but not overwhelming feel. The playability is spot on and won't disappoint even the pickiest player. The tone is warm and clear, as I've almost always found with Custombuckers. This guitar ultimately sounds very comparable to my personal Gibson Rusty Anderson '59 Reissue.
The guitar includes the original hardshell case, the COA, the Gibson multi-tool, and a leather Gibson guitar strap.
