This 2021 Gibson Les Paul Custom starts with the usual black beauty Les Paul Custom, but was done at the Gibson factory with several modifications to the usual design.  The hardware is all chrome, instead of gold.  The pickguard was done in 3-ply pearloid instead of 5-ply black.  The the pickup rings are ivory with chrome metal tops added.  Lastly, instead of having the usual 490R/498T pickup set, this one came installed with a Burstbucker 2 pickup in the neck and a Super 57 in the bridge.
 
The guitar is set up with low, fast action and plays like a dream.  All notes ring out clearly with no fret buzz.  The pickup combo compares very nicely to my personal 1971 Les Paul Custom which is one of the best sounding Les Pauls I've ever heard.  This one comes very close to it.  Cleans shimmer with great note separation.  Dirty through a 1957 Vibrolux and this one screams.  It even does a nice job with high gain sounds, although this one really shines at clean and overdriven.
 
The guitar is in near mint condition with only some very light, easily buffable surface scratches and a small amount of lacquer sinkage at the heel (pictured).  The guitar is stamped "MOD" on the back of the headstock.
