This beautiful, big body acoustic archtop with floating humbucker was made by Czech luthier Jan Fiser. Fiser started making instruments in 1999 and originally studied violin building, and since 2005 has been building guitars under his own name.
This guitar has an 18 3/8" lower bout with a parallel braced top. The top and back are attached with violin style construction with a small lip that overhangs the sides. All of the construction shows fine attention to detail. The top is carved from solid Alpine spruce and the back of solid, flamed Carpathian maple. The sides and neck are also solid, flamed Carpathian maple. The fretboard, bridge, tailpiece, and pickup cover are all made of solid ebony.
The guitar plays beautifully with a big, round voice that is remarkably even across the full range sound. The neck has a full, rounded C-shaped carve with light shoulders and virtually no taper until it starts to move into the neck joint. The custom humbucker which is mounted directly into the end of the neck comes with volume and tone controls that are mounted to the underside of the pickup. The guitar is in near mint condition with virtually no fret wear and only light finish wear.
