This Gibson Custom Les Paul Junior comes from the Gibson Mod Collection.  This one's modification is a custom "Antique Burst" VOS finish.  This finish really makes this one stand out from other singlecut Juniors. Otherwise, the hardware and electronics are the same as any other Custom Shop 1957 Junior reissue.  The control knobs are the same black tophats that are found on the TV yellow versions.  As expected for a Mod Collection guitar, there are a few small visual defects if you look hard enough.  Although, that's the case on most other Gibson guitars as well on close inspection.  The back of the headstock is stamped "MOD" as these most usually are.  The pickguard shows light play scratches.
 
Where things really count, playability and tone, this guitar has those things in spades.  The neck has the full '57 C-shaped carve which is especially comfortable in larger hands.  The action is low and fast with all notes ringing clearly.  The mahogany used to make this guitar is beautifully resonant and the P90 pickup has all of the bite and punch one hopes for, sounding very much like a strong vintage example.
