Here is your chance to be the original owner of this incredible creation by Canadian luthier Benoit Lavoie. As this guitar is a great example of his work, it was used for guitar shows during the last two years.  Benoit has it set up and polished in new condition, ready for it to go to it's new home.

Benoit Lavoie crafts his amazing instruments in his workshop in Quebec using the finest woods.  He uses a mix of time tested luthiery and modern innovation to create guitars quite unlike any that we have ever experienced.  The top and back are made of bookmatched woods which have carved arches.  The top is x-braced in a unique fashion that allows for full resonation of the German spruce top. This soundboard has just the one soundhole in the upper bout, bass side.  There is also a soundport directed at the player in the side of the upper bout.  Note the violin style construction with top and back that overhang the sides.  The neck is reinforced with 4 carbon fiber rods and joined to the body using a Ken Parker style mount that allows for adjustment of the string height on the fly using the bolt seen on the back of the guitar. This allows the bridge to remain in place while the fretboard can move up and down in relation to the strings to adjust string height.  Most amazingly, the guitar will remain in tune with this adjustment.

The sum of all of the design, parts, and workmanship of this guitar results in a highly resonant guitar with very full response.  In some ways I find that it reminds me of a classical guitar, particularly in its increased bass response compared to most archtop guitars.  This makes it especially excel at solo pieces, although it is certainly highly capable of accompaniment.
