This guitar is the classic Castellucia model, like the one that has been often used by Dorado Schmitt and sounds very much like that guitar.  It is remarkably loud, louder than any manouche guitar I have personally played.  The tone is dry and very punchy with a solid bass response.  The decay is fairly rapid.  It can really stand out backing another played with "le pompe", but can also shine when soloing.

The spruce top has three simple  ladder style braces and the back is entirely unbraced.  This build results in a remarkably stable guitar.  The guitar is entirely free of cracks.  The back and sides are made of Cuban mahogany with a mahogany neck  with a rosewood fingerboard as well.  The guitar has its original JC tailpiece and tuners. The nut measures 1 3/4 inches.  The bridge currently has a small shim under the bass side with an overall 3 mm action at the 12th fret.  It was refretted recently and had some fingerboard divots repaired also.

This Castellucia also has Selmer style dimensions with a scale length of 670 mm, 15 3/4 inch lower bout, 3 3/8 inch depth. The guitar weighs a mere 3.4 pounds.

The guitar comes with an Altamira hardshell case which fits beautifully.
