Jarrett guitars were made in the USA in a small shop in Westport, Connecticut. The guitars are hand-built, custom shop level instruments.  This model, the Zaffiro is a slightly larger bodied, chambered take on the Les Paul with the commensurate mahogany body with maple top and mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard.  The overall body shape is somewhat reminiscent of the Gibson L-5S.

The quality of the materials and the workmanship shine in this example.  The maple top is highly flamed and the rosewood fingerboard is nice and dark.  The guitar is highly resonant and has sustain that goes on for days.  The playability is superb with low, fast action.  The neck has a full, D-shape with noticeable shoulders.

This guitar has the Bartolini pickups which were a build option that could be chosen over the standard Seymour Duncans.  The result is a very versatile guitar, at home in multiple settings from jazz to country to blues to rock, this guitar can do it all and do it exceptionally well.  Thanks to the low profile of these instruments, they make an exceptional value.  There aren't many instruments built to this level than can be had under $2000 in the current day.

The frets are in excellent condition with lots of life left.  The finish is very good with only very light surface scratches, no chips or cracks.
