Guitar of the week #28 from 2007 was this Les Paul Custom Classic. On the surface it almost looks like a pre-humbucker 1950s Les Paul Custom. It shares the same multi-ply binding as a Les Paul Custom on the top, but doesn't have any binding on the back. Instead of an Alnico V in the neck position, it has a P90, just like the bridge, and the headstock inlay is a crown, like an ES-335 or ES-175 instead of a split diamond. The ebony fretboard has trapezoid inlays instead of the block inlays seen on a Custom.
This guitar is an amazing player with action that can be set ridiculously low if desired. The neck is a '60s slim carve. The pickups have the expected P90 punch and versatility, giving chiming cleans or capable of aggressive overdriven tones.
The guitar is in all original condition. There are surface scratches, almost all in the area where the original owner did a lot of strumming. Otherwise the finish is in very good shape.
