This "gypsy jazz" guitar by noted Canadian luthier Shelley D. Park is made of select woods throughout, featuring highly flamed koa back and side, and bear claw figured spruce top. This example is her 14-fret Modele Encore. Shelley describes the Modele Encore as based on later model Selmer guitars with four lateral braces below the soundhole. This is a very versatile model with higher frets well within reach for the soloist, but still packing the punch needed for rhythm.
The guitar plays wonderfully, and I think the description of the model fits very well in this case. While some of the woods are non-traditional for the style of guitar, they are premium woods often used in other acoustic guitars and they work fantastically here.
The guitar is in very good condition, but does show some scattered small dings and light scratches. The neck, however, is smooth and clean with a D-shape.
The guitar comes with the original TKL hard shell case.
