I was fortunate enough to get these prototypes in of the Loar LH-700.  They are in new condition and will come in original Loar packaging, but are being sold as mint, simply because they are prototypes.  This one is prototype #6 and while all of the examples I received are great guitars, this one is my personal favorite.  I think it has the best tone and playability of them, although its woods are not quite as heavily figured.

I actually think that probably because these were prototype guitars, they arrived with better finished fretwork and playability than I've usually seen in new Loar guitars.  Both this one and the other play great, straight out of the box with only some slight set up tweaks.

If you aren't familiar with The Loar acoustic archtops, the LH-700 is made of all solid woods with fully carved spruce tops and maple backs with solid maple sides.  They are essentially based on the early Lloyd Loar designed original Gibson L-5 from the 1920s.  I have experience with the early Gibson archtops, and it is truly amazing how close The Loar comes to nailing the experience of playing a 16 inch early Gibson archtop.  At this price point, they are basically unbeatable.
