The 1978 Martin D-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar is a timeless classic that has been cherished by musicians for decades. This single owner instrument features a solid spruce top, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, 3-piece rosewood back, and rosewood sides, delivering a rich, resonant sound that is perfect for both fingerstyle and strumming.

The dreadnought body shape provides a powerful, balanced tone, making it an ideal choice for both solo performances and group playing. It has sustain that seems to go on for days, and it displays remarkable clarity with the set of Martin Retro 12s that we set up on the guitar.

The guitar maintains a factory spec action of 5/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side with only a slight hint of neck relief with the .012 - .054 set of Martin Retro strings.  The intonation is spot on.  We knew this had to be a good one since the owner who lived near the factory in Nazareth went in person to pick it out.

The guitar is in beautiful condition, especially considering that its over 45 years old.  It's clear that this guitar was cherished and extremely well cared for.  The top shows one small area of light impression shown in the closeup photo and the frets show some wear with some flattening of the frets under the three highest strings, up and down the neck.  There is still considerable life left in them though.
